Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital was established as a 6-bed nursing facility in 1904. Today, the hospital boasts 181 hospital beds, more than 430 employees and world-class medical staff.We are a private, independent and non-profit hospital with a commitment to provide superior patient centred care, whilst advancing towards world class clinical innovation.Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital offers state-of-the-art equipment and theatres combined with excellent nursing care for which we are renowned. Biokinetic rehabilitation facilities are offered at the hospital. Staff from therapeutic services such as physiotherapy and biokinetic provide guidance for prevention, rehabilitation, pre- and post-operative care.In cooperation with a private practice, the hospital also offers a 24-hour emergency service.Although the building facade of the hospital has changed, the service and very high standards that generations of families grew to know and trust can still be found at ZAH. 4Wounds Wound Care Clinic treats and promotes the healing of various kinds of wounds.
RADIOLOGY
Our Radiology Department offers plain film X-Rays, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, bone-densitometry, CT scanning and MR scanning.
COFFEE SHOP
Zuid-Afrikaans offers two on-site coffee shops, located at the Main Entrance and at the Doctors Consulting Wing.

VISITING HOURS
Kindly take note that our visiting hours are regularly revised. Please visit this page prior to visitation.
Visiting Arrangements
Please note that we have revised our visiting hours for the hospital. As from Wednesday, 23 March 2022, visiting hours will be implemented as follows:
- Every day of the week
- Any time between 14h30 – 15h30.
- No children under 12 years are allowed.
- Our patients remain vulnerable to infections, hence all safety principles and COVID-19 precautions must be upheld
- You are not allowed to remove your mask at any time
WARDS
- Two visitors per patient per day will be allowed to visit simultaneously for 15 minutes.
INTENSIVE CARE UNITS
- Two visitors per patient per day will be allowed to visit separately (only one visitor allowed at a time) for 15 minutes each.
