About Us
Dr Gary Fetter is a senior general and bariatric surgeon based in Midrand, Gauteng, with more than 17 years of experience in bariatric and metabolic surgery. He is part of the Gauteng Centre of Excellence for Metabolic Medicine and Surgery (CEMMS), with practices at Netcare Waterfall City Hospital and Life Fourways Hospital.
With over 30 years of experience as a surgeon, Dr Fetter has developed extensive expertise across a wide range of surgical disciplines. His career has included endocrine surgery, kidney and pancreas transplantation, complex head and neck cancer surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery and general surgery.
His particular focus is now on bariatric and metabolic surgery, where he has performed thousands of primary and revision procedures. Dr Fetter combines advanced laparoscopic skills with a long-term approach to patient care, recognising that successful weight-loss surgery involves more than the operation itself. Ongoing support and sustainable lifestyle changes are important parts of the journey.
