Healthy Feet Podiatry

About Us:

Healthy Feet Podiatry is a Podiatry healthcare organisation specialising in offering the best medical advice and care to ensure that your feet are healthy and happy.

Diabetic foot screenings:

They offer diabetic foot screenings to check for foot health problems in people with diabetes. When ulcers or other foot problems are found and treated early, it can prevent serious complications. People with diabetes should get a diabetic foot screening at least once a year.

Healthy Feet Podiatry also treat bunions, a bunion is a bony bump that forms on the joint at the base of your big toe. It occurs when some of the bones in the front part of your foot move out of place. This causes the tip of your big toe to get pulled toward the smaller toes and forces the joint at the base of your big toe to stick out. Without proper care, like changing your footwear or using orthotics, bunions can get worse over time.

Plantar Fasciitis:

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of each foot and connects the heel bone to the toes (plantar fascia). Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. Treatments include physiotherapy, shoe inserts, steroid injections and surgery.

Winter feet (or Chilblains):

Winter feet (or Chilblains) are the painful inflammation of small blood vessels in your skin that occur in response to repeated exposure to cold but not freezing air. Chilblains can cause itching, red patches, swelling and blistering on your hands and feet. Chilblains usually clear up within one to three weeks, especially if the weather gets warmer. You may have recurrences seasonally for years. Treatment involves protecting yourself from the cold and using lotions to ease the symptoms. Chilblains don't usually result in permanent injury. But the condition can lead to infection, which may cause severe damage if left untreated.

Gout is a painful form of arthritis. When your body has extra uric acid, sharp crystals may form in the big toe or other joints, causing episodes of swelling and pain called gout attacks. Gout is treatable with medications and changes in diet and lifestyle.
