About Us
Dr Sanelisiwe Balfour, fondly known as Dr Nellie, is a dedicated paediatrician practising at Netcare Sunninghill and Waterfall Hospitals in Johannesburg. With a passion for newborns and early childhood development, Dr Nellie provides expert care for children from birth to 16 years. Her commitment to creating a safe, nurturing environment for her young patients stems from her own childhood experiences, inspiring her to make a difference in the lives of little ones.
Experience and Expertise
Dr Nellie was the first private general paediatrician at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Parktown. Her journey through esteemed institutions such as Chris Hani Baragwanath and Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospitals has shaped her into a compassionate and skilled practitioner. She holds an MBChB from UCT and a Master’s degree in Paediatrics from Wits, with her thesis published in the African Journal of Nephrology.
