About Us
Clarah Divine Occupational Therapy, based in Sandton, Johannesburg, has been a cornerstone in occupational therapy since its establishment in 2002. Initially focusing on clinical work, our practice has evolved to meet the diverse needs of our clients. For the first six years, we provided occupational therapy services for orthopaedic injuries, neurological conditions, and psychiatric cases. In 2007, we introduced functional capacity evaluation, and since 2009, we have specialised in medico-legal and return-to-work evaluations, along with human factor and ergonomic assessments.
Our mission is to enable individuals by addressing the broad spectrum of medical, social, psychological, and occupational factors that impact their well-being. We believe that occupational therapy can enhance participation in daily life by modifying the person, their occupation, or the environment.
What Is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is a holistic approach that focuses on improving a person's ability to participate in meaningful activities. Occupational therapists use their extensive training in medical, social-behavioural, psychological, psychosocial, and occupational sciences to work with individuals, groups, or communities. We aim to support people with impairments or restrictions in participation due to health conditions or social exclusion. By adjusting physical, social, cultural, attitudinal, or legislative environments, we help clients achieve their optimal level of occupational participation.

Functional Capacity Evaluation & Vocational Evaluation
Our evaluations determine if your physical, psychosocial, and cognitive abilities align with job demands after an illness or injury, guiding you through rehabilitation to return to your optimal pre-injury capacity.
Ergonomic Evaluation
We evaluate your workplace design to ensure it fits your needs, helping to reduce fatigue and prevent musculoskeletal disorders, thus enhancing overall productivity and comfort.
RAF (Road Accident Fund) Evaluation
We conduct assessments related to road accident injuries to support claims for compensation and assist in rehabilitation strategies tailored to your specific needs.
Medico-legal & Medical Negligence Evaluation
We assist in obtaining compensation for injuries by providing thorough evaluations that support your legal claims.
Pre-school Screening
We offer developmental screenings for pre-school children to identify early signs of difficulties and provide guidance on intervention strategies to support their growth and learning.
