About Us
Dr Farai Dube is a Specialist Physician and Cardiologist based at Mediclinic Morningside in Sandton and Mediclinic Sandton in Bryanston. With a practice history since 2002, Dr Dube combines clinical expertise with compassionate care to provide top-quality cardiology services. He is the founder of Sandton Heart Inc and has a background that includes serving as a Cardiology Fellow and Junior Consultant at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in the Division of Cardiology. Additionally, he has been a Registrar for Internal Medicine at the University of Witwatersrand Registrar Circuit and has held roles such as Medical Advisor and Program Manager in the public health sector, including at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
Dr Dube’s main interests and expertise lie in echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, device interrogation and implantation, and preventative cardiology. He offers clinical, diagnostic, and interventional cardiology care through Sandton Heart Inc, ensuring comprehensive patient management.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Dr Dube relocated to South Africa to pursue his medical studies and career. He graduated from the University of Transkei (Unitra) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Systems and Policy from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). He is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Dr Dube has a robust research background, having contributed to national guidelines on infection control and authored sections on PMTCT and Pediatric HIV Care in an AIDS Foundation book.
Dr Dube is committed to community service, participating in various outreach programmes, mentoring students, and volunteering at orphanages and clinics. He is also the founder of Savannah Wellness Solutions, a personal health and corporate wellness service provider. In his free time, Dr Dube enjoys playing tennis, jogging, fishing, running marathons, and learning golf. He resides in Johannesburg with his wife Portia, an investment banker, and their two children.
