About Us
Angel Sekwela (nee Ndabambi), Occupational Therapist
I obtained my OT degree from University of Limpopo, Medunsa Campus. I am an occupational therapist with twelve years of experience across district hospitals, provincial hospitals, and private practice. My core interests are in mental health occupational therapy, vocational rehabilitation, and medico-legal assessment and reporting.
Mental health OT: Mental health occupational therapy focuses on helping persons with mental health challenges achieve and maintain a meaningful and fulfilling life through engagement in meaningful activities. Mental health occupational therapy services are provided for depression, anxiety, poor emotional regulation, parental support, stress, and burnout. Mental health OT helps you to create a balanced occupational profile and thrive.
I work with adolescents and adults, using an activity-based approach to help individuals build balanced occupational profiles and promote overall mental health and well-being. I offer both individual and group mental health occupational therapy services. Some of our mental health services include comprehensive sensory profiling through Sensory Matrix™ and Senses@Work™.
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and Vocational Rehabilitation: I have completed a postgraduate diploma in vocational rehabilitation and have earned certifications as an ErgoScience PWPE evaluator, Progressive Goal Attainment Program® (PGAP) service provider, and Psychiatric Functional Capacity Evaluator (PFCE). I conduct physical, psychiatric, and cognitive functional capacity evaluations. I am also passionate about case management and return-to-work assessments.
Medico-legal occupational therapy services: In medico-legal, I provide occupational therapy assessments and reports for Road Accident Fund (RAF) claims, medical negligence, and personal injury cases. I have experience drafting joint minutes, participating in pre-trial meetings, and testifying in court as an expert witness.
