Robyn Hunter provides specialized treatment to help her clients achieve and maintain independence in all areas of their lives.

Services

• Medico Legal Assessment. The assessment is comprehensive and holistic and includes the identification of the client's abilities and any permanent disabilities related to their physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional function, and their performance of activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living following their injury.

• Work and Industry: Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE). This is a process that enables Robyn Hunter to assess the patient's ability to perform work related tasks.

  • Identifying the individual's true safe capabilities.

  • Decreased absenteeism at work.

  • Avoid further injuries on duty.

  • Ability to safely return to work status (including full duty, modified duty, or transitional duty).

  • Work ability status for vocational rehabilitation.

  • Workers' compensation case settlement.

  • Determining Disability status.

  • Ability to meet job demands as part of a hiring process (pre-work/post-offer employment testing).

• Rehabilitation: Hand Therapy

  • Preventative, non-operative or conservative treatment.

  • Management of acute or chronic pain.

  • Oedema management.

  • Wound care and management.

  • Therapeutic modalities (ice, heat, massage, etc).

  • Desensitization following nerve injury or trauma.

  • Sensory re-education after nerve injury.

  • Design and implementation of home exercise programs to increase motion, dexterity, and/or strength.

  • Splint fabrication for protective, prevention or correction of injury.

  • Pressure garment fabrication for scar management (burns and post surgical).

  • Training in the performance of daily life skills through adapted methods and equipment.

  • Ergonomic assessment and adaptation of the work station in order to prevent further injury.

  • Work conditioning prior to returning to work
